Spotted 2 NSX's with vanity plates in one week. My favorite is the ITSANNSX. Guess he got tired of being asked what it was. The other one is harder to read but is N2 ZOOMN which is pretty lame. Wheels are pretty lame too. Im kinda feeling the NSX in yellow though, maybe with the wheels off of the red one. 1000 internets if you can guess my beater from the reflection in the pic of the yellow one.

is it some kind of dart? i'm racking my brains here, and, like a cow has stomachs, I have several (brains, not darts).

ITSANNSX is pretty funny. Personally, I find these cars to be extremely recognizable from most angles, and I'm not even a Honda guy.

My issue is (and you can thank video games for this) that these are supposed to have those roof intakes, in my mind. That makes them even more recognizable, because, frankly, you don't seem to see that sort of thing very often.

Did the street version of these cars never come with those? Was it a racing thing only? If I ever own an oldschool NSX, I'll move heaven and earth to get one of those on there (not necessarily because they look all that good, but I do feel like they are a key component).

I dunno. Am I crazy? I'm crazy, aren't I?

Just the DOPE RIMZ and GTA SA-style exhaust.

Im far from a Honda guru, but I do wanna say that a couple of JDM NSXs had some kind of roof/hatch intake.

Is that a Civic Del Sol?

Wow! i cannot believe you got that. Its a 1995 del sol. Flat orange with a shiny blue door. Its ugly as sin but it gets 35 mpg and is actually pretty fun to drive. 1000 internets to you good sir or madam. Will you take a postdated check for 2072?

Woohoo! Of course, with inflation, that'll be something like 50 Internets in today's value, but who cares! Free Internets!
I used to drive a beat-up '93 Civic CX (hatch), so I totally get why someone would enjoy a Del Sol. If I hadn't needed the cargo space, mine probably would have been a Del Sol. They're the only modern car I know of (by my definitely, anything with an ECU is modern) with no back windows at all, that is common on American roads.

Incidentally, just saw an NSX today, without one of those intakes...

...going the other way on the freeway. Immediately recognizable I guess (to me anyway). I'm not even close to what anyone would consider a Honda fan, but these cars were just too badass. That said, I always thought of them on the Ford GT/Lexus LFA/Nissan GT-R type level; cars that are the pinnacle of their manufacturer, and not necessarily representative of the usual stuff the manufacturer makes.

I never thought of the rear window thing, good call. here is mine. its probably the most beat up one still around. paid $300 for it 7 years ago. im not responsible for the heinous fenders but i claim the orange spray paint. it has a 130hp jdm d15b i put in it about 3 years ago, along with the lower gear si trans, 5 speed naturally. sadly i think it may finally be done, came home yesterday and it was vomiting oil and coolant from the back side of the engine, which screams cracked block to me. havent had a chance to put it on the lift to check yet.

Hey, I'd totally rock that ride for $300. I paid $1100 for mine, and promptly had to put a new tranny and clutch in it. I opted for the S40 from an si as well, which helps a lot. The speedo was always off after that, but I didn't care lol. I sold mine when it lost a valve, as I'd already worked way too much on it. Yours wouldn't be a bad candidate to put another engine in, a D15b8 with a vtec head can push 200hp; everything's bolt-on, and pretty easy to find what you need on craigslist. If I'd kept mine, that's what I was going to do, but I was tired of messing with the car (okay, I was also tired of all the tickets I was getting for the window tint, lol).

Yep, I agree man. Although performance, and to a lesser degree cost, don't absurdly scream "supercar!", they're still pretty super in my book. I've never owned an Acura or Honda. I've especially never thought of owning one as my "fast" car. Still, the NSX could change that for me. Other than the NSX and 3000GT I've owned most of Japan's heavy hitters from the 90s at one point or another. I still REALLY want one. Anything automotive that Senna loved is more than good enough for me. In fact im currently fantasizing about a white NSX with some forced induction on black CCW or BBS wheels. Yep, I need me one!

Not surprised the NSX you saw didn't have the intake. Like I said, there was maybe a Honda NSX, built for the JDM market, where they fitted one of the scoops/intakes on a special edition or two. I know for a fact none of the USDM Acuras had it though. If you see one in the US with that scoop its definitely aftermarket.

Maybe someone knowledgeable in all things Honda could tell us if any of the JDM cars had that "snorkel" from the factory?

sweet hatch. love the rear wiper delete. what exactly was someone going to tow with that hitch? i think mine is too far gone. there isnt a straight body panel on the thing. thats actually the good side! the passenger door doesnt open at all. im pretty sure the frame is tweaked because no matter how many times ive had it aligned it wears tires unevenly. although it actually has a CLEAR title its probably been totalled many times over, including once while i was driving by a 16 year old in a suburban whose parents wrote me a check for 2 grand. i went to the junkyard and grabbed a door and beat it straight enough to kinda seal and rolled with it. i realize now while almost all hondas on craigslist have salvage titles, people loved hitting this thing.
